Dare to Have an Extraordinary Life – Dig out that “Chip”!

Received a note and this pic from E, a longtime reader the other day. She has been a reader of my site for about 7-8 years. She is a wise young woman with the best of reading tastes. LOL  It always helps any of us so much to be able to access and communicate with likeminded others when we’re on any path in life. This is why I’ve written so many articles urging African American women to join or form a network of likeminded others. A network like that is a form of wealth!  So, she keeps me posted about what’s going on in her life.

Evia, hope your April is going well.  I have enjoyed my time so far out here and my dip into boarding school life.  My husband has been working in LA since January so I am hoping to find a position closer to there at a well-regarded day school.  Small town life is restorative,  and the town is lovely and quirky, but I would love to be closer to the big city and bright lights, restaurants open late and CULTURE!  I have attached a selfie we took as the ice plants bloomed out here last month. Gosh, California is beautiful.

I think I recall E telling me she’s a graduate of one of the Ivies. She is now loving her job as a  teacher at an exclusive boarding school. I’m so happy she has stepped out of the “ordinary” for an African American woman and is [Read more…]

New Mommy Tyra Banks! The Gritty Slice & Nuances of “I Want a Man on My Level” & Other Wordings

Tyra and ErikI was thrilled to read this morning that Tyra Banks and her long-term boyfriend, Erik Asla (Norwegian photographer) are the new parents of a baby boy via a surrogate mother!! ARTICLE  I was sad for Tyra last year when I read that she so passionately wanted to have children but was unable to conceive. At 41 then, her biological clock was taking its last gasps. She was undergoing the IVF treatments that she described as ‘traumatic.’

Well, this is an example of how money CAN actually buy life. LOL!  Women with her resources can pay another woman to carry their fertilized egg. But hey, being a surrogate mom has become a lucrative new profession for some women. This is a win-win situation. This is a profession that even some older women can engage in because under the right circumstances, a healthy enough older woman (I’ve read of a few cases of women in their sixties doing this!!) can carry a fertilized egg and birth the child of a younger woman whose body is impaired in some way.  I tell ya: A woman’s body is a magnificent creation! LOL!

As a marriage advocate, [Read more…]

Marriage and the Supreme Value of the Female Card

J & B – Engaged to be married in Dec. 2012  They met on Match.com. He was about to give up when he met her. LOL!

Thanks, Felicia for this set of 3 pics in an intriguing article that I will post the link to when I post the last pic.

However, in my quest to find out why the female card is not of more use to some women–who want to get married– I came across THIS.

Just WOW!

Just to be clear, I hope no one thinks I’m talking about the mechanics of sex when I mention the female card. Not at all. I’ll begin to spell it out and elaborate in the series of expanded ‘teaching articles’ and podcast I’m doing about the supreme value of the female card.
